I had no idea that typewriter concerts were a Thing. Where have I been that I've never heard of this before (especially since music was my first love, I had a defacto undergraduate minor in music and I still play and baby my Baby Grand)? So charming and adorable -- thanks for sharing that! I'm a new fan.
Wondering whether some of the soiled yarn was part of a stash you once inherited from the beloved relative of someone you once randomly met? I seem to remember you had a wonderful story about that. Glad you were able to salvage some of it!
I felt exactly the same when I first discovered it. NPR does an annual desk concert. I think that's how I stumbled upon it. As for the wool, good memory! Someone gave me a suitcase full of his grandmother's yarn and asked me to make what I could of it, which ended up being two full afghans. I used almost all of it. This "lost" assortment was mostly leftovers from my own projects...I'm loathe to toss even the smallest bits of wool. The center of a granny square requires so little. My grandmother would take the ends after making a sweater and start as many squares as she could, adding to them as more ends became available.
I loved 84 Crossings Road. I went through a stage a few years ago when I mostly read epistolary novels.
Loved this ❤️. Wishing you a wonderful shabbos!
Thanks, Itta! So nice to hear from you. Gut Shabbos!
Lovely writing and the perfect way to end the work week and welcome the Sabbath.
Thank you so much, Amy. Wishing you a peaceful transition from work to rest.
